Small Towns, Big Developments

The changes in the economy in the past twenty years have not been kind to Vermont’s small towns. Their revitalization and economic development continues to be an issue of paramount importance to the state’s economy.

Beginning in early July, Dave will highlight this issue in a series of broadcasts live from Vermont’s small towns and cities. Through interviews with members of local economic development groups and business owners, small towns and cities will have the opportunity to share their successes and discuss the difficulties they face as their communities work to rejuvenate their economic bases.

Our goal is to facilitate a conversation in the larger Vermont community about the need for economic growth in our small towns, which are vital to Vermont’s identity, and to encourage active revitalization efforts in towns which do not have them.
