On Monday’s Dave Gram Show, Colin Meyn of VTDigger joins Dave for an update on the impasse between lawmakers and Gov. Phil Scott, followed by a conversation with Senate President Pro Tem Tim Ashe.
In the second hour, we take a look at Nicholas Black Elk, a spiritual leader of the last century who taught from a blend of his Oglala Sioux tradition and the Roman Catholicism to which he converted as an adult. Black Elk is being promoted for sainthood, and joining us to talk about his extraordinary life is Damian Costello, a Montpelier theologian who wrote a recent article on the matter for the leading Catholic magazine America; as well as Basil Brave Heart, a resident of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, who is part of the effort to canonize Black Elk.
