TODAY: Gray, but with late afternoon breaks of sun. Occasional mountain snow showers or flurries with a dusting to an inch north of the Barre-Montpelier area especially higher terrain. A high mid to upper 30s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph shifting westerly in the afternoon.

TONIGHT: An early evening flurry or two, otherwise lots of clouds with partial clearing developing toward daybreak. A low upper teens to mid-20s. Light northwest winds.

WEDNESDAY: A pleasant dry winter day and slightly above normal in temperature. Periods of sun central and northern areas…gradually becoming cloudy. A high 32 to 35. Little wind.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Thickening clouds leading to few flurries or sprinkles late. Milder. A low upper 20s to low 30s in the evening…rising into the lower 30s overnight.

THURSDAY: Mainly gray but with breaks of sun. Rising chance for rain showers mixed with snow east of the Green Mountains with some accumulation especially Thursday Night. A high mid to upper 30s.

FRIDAY: Morning clouds, then mostly sunny in the afternoon. A low mid 20s far northern areas to around 30. A high 35 to 40.

SATURDAY: Overcast. Rising chance for rain…moderate at times central and southern areas. Slippery travel likely in the morning east of the Green Mountains. A low in the 20s. A high mid-30s to near 40.

SUNDAY: Blustery & much colder. Chance for accumulating snow showers and possible snow squalls. Temperatures upper 30s to low 40s Saturday night…then falling into the 20s later in the afternoon.

Average lows mid-single digits thru mid-teens. Average highs mid-20s to low 30s
