Rusty DeWees - What're You Sayin? comes to WDEV!
Radio Vermont Group is pleased to introduce Rusty DeWees as the host of his own show titled What're You Sayin? which will be broadcast on its flagship news/talk/ sports station, WDEV [AM 550 (Waterbury), FM 96.1 (Warren), FM 96.5 (Barre), FM 98.3 (Montpelier), and FM 101.9 (Island Pond)]. DeWees will host What're You Sayin? every Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, chatting with folks from, as Rusty puts it "all walks, my rolodex is thick and hearty as pea soup." Incoming station owner Myers Mermel likes a mix of talents and tone when it comes to his talk show hosts "Rusty knows Vermont and knows our people better than almost anyone." DeWees' maiden show was December twelfth, when his guest was Copley Hospital's leading Oncology Nurse Practitioner, Laura Drenen. Mr. DeWees' resume includes roles in dozens of national and international film and tv productions, and has written, performed, directed, and produced his one man THE LOGGER Comedy and Music show, for thirty years. "I played drums on Jack Donovan's Vermont Live program on WDEV in 1975. I've been on WDEV must be a hundred times since. That's a lot of auditions to finally get hired! So happy to be a regular part of a unique gig that is radio five, five, oh." Mermel adds "Rusty has proved the adage that if at first you don't succeed you should quit. After all these years, it wasn't until after he decided he didn't want to be on WDEV anymore that we had to have him."
